QL Series
Actualizado: 2024-01-04
The QL series level switch offers the same reliability as our LX series and also offers a faster response time. The QL series level switch offers versatility not seen in other level control devices. One unit can be field calibrated to detect the interface of air/foam, foam/liquid, oil/emulsion, emulsion/water, oil/water, and a solid in a liquid. The instrument can detect agitation in a tank, vessel, or pond. It can also be used as a universal high level switch that will quickly alarm if any type of liquid comes in contact with the probe. In applications where response time is critical the QL series level switch responds three times faster then our standard LX level switch. The QL sensor head employs two temperature sensors with a constant very low power heating source physically attached to one of the temperature sensors while the second temperature sensor is isolated from the heating source and provides compensation for changing process temperatures. The probe operates by sensing the thermal conductivity (not electrical conductivity) of the product surrounding the probe. Air and gasses have poor thermal conductivity which produces the highest temperature differential between the heated and unheated sensor. Liquids are much more thermally conductive then air or gasses and produce the smallest temperature differential. All liquids that form an interface will have a difference in thermal conductivity that can be detected.
No moving parts exposed to the process provide end users with an extremely reliable and repeatable flow switch even in viscous or corrosive applications.
Single or dual switch point electronics are available. The dual switch point option allows one sensor to detect two different interfaces or one interface and another process variable such as fluid agitation. Temperature monitoring is also available with either a switch output or a linear 4-020 mA output.
Relay outputs are standard and are offered with several different configurations and contact ratings. Remote mounting of the electronics is also available.

QX Series
Actualizado: 2024-01-04
The QX series flow switch offers the same reliability as our FX series and also offers a faster response time. These fast response flow switches are used when the response time in detecting the increase or decrease of flow is critical. With no moving parts exposed to the process they will provide extremely reliable and repeatable operation in virtually all liquids, gases, and slurries. The sensor head employs two temperature sensors with a constant very low power heating source physically attached to one of the temperature sensors. The second temperature sensor is isolated from the heating source and provides compensation for changing process temperatures. As the rate of flow changes so does the temperature differential. This allows the device to be used as a flow/no flow sensor, or to switch at any velocity shown in the flow switch range chart. The dual set point option provides two separately adjustable switch points.
Extremely low flow rates can be detected with rangeability up to 300:1. This instrument is ideal for use in virtually all liquids, gases, and slurries. No moving parts exposed to the process provide end users with an extremely reliable and repeatable flow switch even in viscous or corrosive applications.
The electronics are available with single or dual switch points. A SPDT 3 amp Relay output is standard and are offered with several different configurations and contact ratings. Temperature monitoring is also available with either a switch output or a linear 4-020 mA output.

An extremely low power heating element is attached to a temperature sensor and a second temperature sensor is isolated from the heater to provide compensation for changing process temperatures.
The thermal conductivity (not electrical conductivity) of the product surrounding the probe results in a temperature differential between the heated and unheated sensor. This temperature difference is greatest in air and gases, lower in liquids, and lowest in moving or agitated liquids. All liquids that form an interface will have a difference in thermal conductivity that can be detected.
Electronics are available with one or two independently adjustable switch points. The dual switch point option allows one sensor to detect two different interfaces or one interface and another process variable such as fluid agitation or foam.
Temperature monitoring is also available with either a switch output at a chosen temperature or with a linear loop powered 4-020 mA output. Many different flow ranges are shown in the set-point range chart below. A conversion table is also provided in the brochure to convert different engineering units. Extremely low flow rates can be detected with a typical turn down ratio of 300:1. The principle of operation allows this flow switch to be used in practically all liquids, gases and slurries. The electronics are available with single or dual switch points. An additional temperature monitoring output is also available with either a switch (relay output) or a linear 4-020 mA output.
Relay outputs are standard and are offered with several different configurations and 3 or 10 amp contact ratings. Remote mounting of the electronics is also available.
